Welcome to Peripatetic Praxis
The Homepage of Eric Weislogel, Ph.D.
I am a professional philosopher. I hold a doctorate in philosophy, teach at academic institutions, belong to professional philosophical organizations, and participate in a variety of networked research programs in philosophy.
More importantly, however, I am an amateur philosopher. I do it for love.
I am concerned with renewing the quest for “the big
picture,” the “forest” and not just the “trees,” synthesis as a
complement to (not replacement for) analysis. I am interested in renewing the
serious and rigorous quest for wisdom and wholeness. I work on developing
transdisciplinary approaches to the most profound questions facing
humanity. I participate in global efforts at transforming education.
My approach is “peripatetic”–it is about being “on the move” in a
loosely postmodern Aristotelian way. This way at the same time promotes
“praxis”–not just reflection but concrete, contextualized reflection
that can and does lead to action.
